Kunstscene is Tilburg’s new open studio weekend. On November 11 and 12, Stichting Ateliers Tilburg organizes the second edition which is all about seeing art and showing art. Besides open studios there are also: pop-up shops, exhibitions, films, workshops, live art and demos. The participating artists are closely involved in the organization of the weekend. In addition, various cultural institutions also participate.On November 11, during Kunstscene, we will open the doors of DansBrabant and treat you to a special performance: Portrait, Balder on Blue Floor by Simon Bus.

On a 2x2m floor, Norwegian dancer Balder Hansen struggles to keep his body balanced. We see him teetering and stumbling, fighting to keep his balance. Balder’s background is in hip-hop, but as he gets older, he manages to mix more and more styles and techniques.
The starting point for choreographer Simon Bus’ work is the game between having control and yet losing it again. Sharp, brutal and always humorous. Simon works with dancers who resemble his movement language, often coming from hip-hop. With his inquisitive gaze and hyper-flexible body, he stretches ideas about breakdance.Date: November 11
