Contemporary – Maria Fagundez Baides:
Maria was trained in contemporary techniques at The Place/Rambert. She was selected for the LABS program at Company Wayne McGregor in 2020. She was also featured in video projects, choreographic cycles and showcases in London, Rome and Madrid with various Spanish and international artists. Among other projects as a freelancer, María is currently one of the dancers in “Machinergy,” by Alienated |Performance Art|.
María’s class opens a space in which everyone is invited to blur the boundaries between what we think of as “choreography,” “improvisation,” “theatricality” in order to come closer to experiencing the full potential of movement expression. Through a gentle but challenging warm-up that focuses on strengthening our bodies within a wide range of movement, improvisational exercises and choreography, we are all encouraged to use dance for our own pleasure and to enjoy seeking and perceiving our limits.
