UN-retained
Bodies - floating and plopping about 10 metres high between buildings in a noisy city centre. Timeless, weightless. We stand still and look up. Naturally, we breathe with the breathless apparitions. Then they dissolve into the vacuum.
UN-retained is a poetic visual story that brings stillness to an overwhelming world. It offers a subtle narrative in image and sound that makes us forget time, space and gravity; it slows down our heartbeat and immerses us in a universe of carefreeness. An experience that both overwhelms and invites contemplation: a spectacle of calm and restraint. Grand and intimate at the same time.
UN-retained is a video mapping installation by choreographer Sabine Molenaar in collaboration with multimedia artist and visual artist Gertjan Biasino and composer Jochem Baelus. In synergy with dance, audiovisual production and public space, digital techniques such as screen mapping and holographic projection support in UN-retained a timeless and weightless story of humanity.
