The Fifteen Project
Pointing fingers, bending hulls, bodies constantly balancing each other.
The Fifteen Project consists of two separate performances: The Fifteen Project | DUET and The Fifteen Project | QUINTET.
Arno Schuitemaker created the two performances with inspiration from science about mirror neurons. Through mirror neurons that every human being carries inside, we experience the movement of the other person imperceptibly. With The Fifteen Project, he continues his research into the physical relationship between the performers and the audience, asking the question in two different ways: how do I relate to another?
The Fifteen Project | DUET (2012)
Two men. Concentrated, disarming and full of physical intensity. Effortlessly they move from the ordinary to the extraordinary. Their movements become infectious and unsuspectedly empathetic.
The Fifteen Project | QUINTET (2012)
Five dancers and visitors share an intimate space. With the dancers' seductive presence and an intense movement language full of subtle contrasts, The Fifteen Project | QUINTET develops into a physicality that becomes tangible. A tangibility that begins to echo in all sorts of ways. Gradually and inevitably, the performance thus exposes our physical connectedness.
