Immortal Game

By Evangelos Biskas

Immortal Game is an interdisciplinary project at the intersection of Virtual Reality (VR) and live performance. Creators and performers Yiannis Logothetis and Evangelos Biskas will work with VR company Improvive to find the ingredients to devise an immersive experience that encourages intimacy and freedom of expression.

The two childhood friends use the VR medium as a playground that provides space for audience members to interact with each other in an anonymous way that allows them to feel and release feelings such as shame, fear and joy in a shared virtual dance in an attempt to dissolve social constructs such as our individualism and gender. The creators and performers involved lead the audience through a transition from virtual to non-virtual space and further through unexpected passages and rooms of the theatre in an ongoing play of transparency, vulnerability, freedom of movement and trust.

This performance is a process of restoring justice in the body, embracing not only the light within us but also our dark side, our shadows, our guilty and forgotten parts of us in an attempt to be in active and unbiased solidarity with each other.
