DansBrabant seeks chairman of the board

Who we are
DansBrabant is a house for the development of contemporary dance and choreography. Based in Tilburg, we work to create a vital dance climate in the south. We feel most connected to makers who wilfully stretch the boundaries of the discipline and work across genres. We believe in sustainability and long lines. We therefore promote long-term research and, together with the makers, intensively search for new practices and forms of presentation.

Board
The board aims for a composition in which professional knowledge, business and financial management, legal aspects, organisational development and communication are represented. The Cultural Governance, Fair Practice and Diversity and Inclusion codes are guiding principles in this respect. Besides participating in regular meetings, each member is willing to constructively question and advise the team from their own expertise. The board explicitly seeks a composition that reflects the diversity and variety of our society.

Who are we looking for - profile
The current board guarantees substantive, managerial and financial expertise. DansBrabant welcomes a new chairman who is willing to move (pro-)actively in regional and national administrative networks, is a sparring partner in strategy development and (partly) recognises himself in the following profile:
- you have an affinity with performing arts, cross-media arts and contemporary dance.
- you have knowledge of and a relevant network in the provincial and national cultural-political field.
- You follow the strategic and artistic choices invested in the organisation and question them critically and constructively .
- you are willing to represent DansBrabant at key moments.

Respond
We warmly invite candidates who recognise themselves and who would like to contribute to a challenging dance field to respond and exchange views with us about filling the vacancy.The board meets an average of four times a year.
