Motus Sonus
Alesya Dobysh & Max Frimout
@ Moving Futures Groningen
Motus Sonus is an interdisciplinary project curated by two Netherlands-based artists: dancer and choreographer Alesya Dobysh and music composer Max Frimout. Their research explores the interplay between movement, sound and space. Besides the influence of the artists involved, the space and the ever-changing acoustics of the room play a role in the final form.
Alesya and Max collaborate with local and international multidisciplinary artists from different backgrounds - including performance art, sound art, martial arts and street and club dance.
Alesya and Max collaborate with local and international multidisciplinary artists from different backgrounds - including performance art, sound art and street and club dancing - to explore the intricate relationship between sonic and somatic experiences and how this collision influences artistic research.
Previous editions of Motus Sonus have taken place at De Fabriek in Eindhoven, The Grey Space in the Middle in The Hague, Art Gallery The Windmill in Seoul (South Korea) and at De Pont in Tilburg, among others.
For the upcoming event, Motus Sonus will transform the NP3 RE:Search:Gallery with a two-day performance/installation. This event is part of the Moving Future Festival and is presented in collaboration with NP3.
