KOMMA with Izah Hankammer

Izah Hankammer (born 1995) is a Filipino-German dancer, performer and creator. In 2020, she graduated from Fontys Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Contemporary Dance, and received the Jacques de Leeuw Prize. During her studies, she collaborated in several projects in Germany, Australia, Italy and the Netherlands, where she started working with United Cowboys. She continued her career with Meyer-Chaffaud Dance Company and during this period started making her own work together with Lucas Devroe under the name moOv. They became part of Makershuis Tilburg and followed a research path within DansBrabant.

Her practice focuses on the different facets of movement and performance, and how they can be approached in different disciplines and media. Besides her work as a dancer/performer in performances, she has also acted as an actress in various film and video projects such as Doll House (Netflix/Marla Ancheta, 2022), If Your Hole But Smiles (The Production/Dick Verdult, 2023) and Opaque (Head Under Water). She currently works as a dancer and performer with Action Zoo Humain, Nicole Beutler Projects and United Cowboys.
